VARIANT 25A

The Variant 25A is a powered, bi-amplified ultra-compact line array module. The Variant 25A is designed for use as a multi-box array in small to mid-sized installations, as a fill unit for front and under-balcony fills, or combined with other D.A.S. line array systems.

The loudspeaker components of the Variant 25A include two 5B, 5” cone transducers. A high efficiency, low distortion M-5N neodymium compression driver with 2” titanium diaphragm offers reliability, high output and wide dynamic range. The D.A.S. designed SERPIS-25 high frequency plane wave generator provides coherent summing of the high frequencies. Power for the Variant 25A is provided by a twin channel class AB amplifier. The unit offers a power rating of 250 W peak for the low frequency transducers and 150 W peak for the high frequency section. Included in the electronics package is the active crossover, signal processing, limitation and protection circuitry.

VARIANT 18A

The Variant 18A compact subwoofer system is the ideal complement for the Variant 25A, extending the bandwidth of the array to 30 Hz. The cabinet design incorporates rigging hardware that permits a column of Variant 25A´s to be flown from or stacked above the Variant 18A.

The Variant 18A utilizes a single 18” cone transducer. The 18H loudspeaker incorporates a 4” (100 mm) edge-wound flat wire (EFW) voice coil and carefully engineered cooling scheme that efficiently evacuates voice coil heat. A class D amplifier rated at 2500 W peak powers the Variant 18A. The limiter/compressor protects the loudspeaker components without compromising sound quality providing virtually transparent limiting even when driven to maximum output levels.
